What’s different on the 2nd generation? Anybody have a review? I am wanting to hang it once per season, so weight as far as carry in and out is not a factor.

If packing isn't a concern I'd get something with a more comfortable seat. The millenium m100u is super comfy with a large platform.
Cant help you on 1 vs 2
Eta: I'm a huge lone wolf fan but my permanent stands are all millenium or cheap sportsman guide crap. The only reason I would put a lone wolf as a permanent is because of how quiet they are.

I just spent last deer season trekking in and out of public land with an Alpha 2 on my back. I like the stand. I grew up hunting out of lock ons so it’s nothing special per say to me except for the weight, which is why I use it. The Millennium 100 is the most comfortable lock on I’ve ever sat in though. If you’re hanging it once and not packing it in and out like me, I’d choose comfort

Look into the hawk lockon as well. The kickback very comfortable

Another stand that is really nice to hunt out of is the millenium m150 monster. I have one I use as a permanent bow stand and love it. The hawk kickback is basically the same but heavier (steel) and maybe less adjustment on the tree.
