The last couple of years these have damaged most of my yield. I want to prevent that this fall. Is there something I need to do now, for them? If I have to wait until visible infestation, what should I spray?

I don't like to spray and only do so as a last resort. I've had problems in the past with these very same pests and have found that concentrates with diazanon work pretty good.

I've also used Spectracide concentrate mixed to the recommended portions to work good too. Those bugs can destroy a lot of good garden produce and they are crazy about tomatoes is my experience. They decimated my creole tomatoes one year. I had thousands of them appear almost overnight with dozens on each tomato plant.

Same here and why I hadn't sprayed the last two years but had enough.

Dawn and water in a squirt bottle kills them in about 2 seconds flat. Go around. Every few days and kill as many as you can. You should be able to reduce the population by alot.
