Lake Bigeaux fishing

Morning all, I have been driving over Lake Bigeaux a lot recently and it just looks like a very fishy place. I know it is pretty much just a big swamp, but I really am just looking for new places to fish. I fish for bass, bream, and crappie, whatever is biting at the time.
Is the whole lake really shallow? Best boat launches/bait shops nearby? Can you run anywhere or have to troll? Any tips would be appreciated.

The whole area is called Henderson Swamp. It's not shallow at all if you stay in Bigeaux and the south end near all the landings. It gets low in some areas when they do drawdowns.

Launch between the Interstate at the rest stop. There are also 3 or 4 launches if you drive into Henderson and turn towards the levee.

Just stay away from the cypress swamps, and you'll be just fine.

Also, if you're on Facebook, check out group called "Henderson Fishing Reports". Those guys catch ice chests full of slab sacalait all the time.

I was out there Saturday...put in under the interstate...
caught some nice bass...some friends were catching sacalait tight lining at about 11'...
certain times you will see them spider rigging in Bigeaux...

Thanks - I’m coming from Lafayette area so to get off there I have to go to the whiskey bay exit.
