You are like a vacuum cleaner on the front of that boat.

Just got a call that my boat is ready.
Perfect timing!

Don't know. But it's good to know that I have my boat just in case.

My daughter's birthday party tomorrow and then her first service as an acolyte on Sunday. I am land locked.

Priorities. I definitely gotta do some work in my house this weekend. Still trying to get it up to snuff to put on the market. So, we'll see what happens. Depends on how much I can get done tomorrow.

Full service, lower unit oil change, and a new water pump. $370.

For a guy who's never fished Henderson before, where to start? I've been wanting to go for years now. I'll put in at the Henderson launch in between the interstate.

The three main types of water in Henderson are flats, canals, and the main lakes (Bigeaux and Pelba). They are all very easily identifiable on a map.
Right now the water is on the fall. What I would look for is moving water coming out of the flats into the canals. Basically any opening from the flats that comes into the canals. We call them "drains". Fish will stage up by them to ambush bait. Also, points on the main lake will usually have fish stage up on them when the water is falling. Topwater in the morning. Crankbaits and soft plastics once the topwater bite slows.
This has been a pretty reliable pattern for me in these conditions.

My fear has always been destroying my lower unit on an underwater stump around there.
Where are the hammer bream, sac's and gogg's?

That I couldn't tell you. There's some old railroad track pilings just north of I-10. They should be visible with the water coming down. That's a popular spot for sacs. If you look on the map there's a canal that runs parallel just north of the interstate. The railroad pilings run along that canal (more on the eastern side).
A popular bream fishing spot is the willow mounds. There's a small canal that runs parallel to the interstate just south of it (this is on the western side). That and some of the little islands just north of the highway in that same area. Also along the levee south of the interstate (the boulevard) is a good spot.
I haven't been bream fishing since June. So I don't know how the bite has been lately.
ETA: if you stick to the canals and main lakes, you don't have to worry. You can run just fine. Anytime you get out of those, be careful.

Im gonna go fishing in the morning I believe, but there is a tourney in Henderson, so I may go to 2 o'clock. I dunno. I may end up in Henderson anyway. I'll have my ole lady with me, so odds are I wont be bass fishing too long depending on what she catches with her worms. I might get some minnows too.

Saw some nice catches from Henderson this weekend. I didn't go, but the water has cleaned up and is still falling. Hope the bite stays good for the next time I can go.
I hope we can start getting some more cool fronts and they'll get into the fall pattern. I'll be throwing topwater like crazy.

We ended up going to 2 O'clock Bayou, and we caught a buncha bream. Didn't want to fool with the crowd in Henderson. I may try to make a quick trip to Henderson one morning this week, or one evening, depending how work goes. If I can't get away this week, then the weekend for sure.
