May I suggest something a little different?

I love my m48, it and I did some major damage on some beaver dams recently

Please don't get the tanto shape.

I was actually a fan of the tanto blade I had. I like the flat edge, it was kinda like a utility knife/box cutter and knife hybrid. My only problem was the lack of a thin sharp point for poking holes in stuff, so I'm not sure I would get another one. I lost the one I had somewhere on Elmer's Island last summer.

You broke the mini griptillian? Or is the end curved enough to not worry about it?

You got the half serrated blade?

I have to have a serrated portion. I use my knife as a saw as much as I use it as a knife.

I saw an article via stumbling recently that recommended a fine edge on the straight part for push cuts & a filed edge (like a metal file you'd use on a shovel) on the curved part to give the equivalent of a serrated edge for rope & such. Apparently a filed edge works just like serrated.

Interesting idea, but I don't have any knives I'm willing to potentially ruin to try it out.

Is rather it opposite, I'd like a fine edge on the curved part.

his point was you want the straight part to be fine for shaving. But whatever, I'm not taking a file to my Fallkniven.

ETA: And damn this thread for re-opening my knife obsession.

Non-serated blade. Ive cut myself a few times with a serated knife because they get hung up on shite. I hate serated knives. More of a hazard than anything IMO.

I broke the tip off dropping it on concrete. Happens to all my knives. I could send send it back to benchmade and they'll change the springs and put the factory edge on it for free, but i dont care.
