Kayak Sac-a-lait fishing

My son and I have gotten into kayak fishing and have been doing lots of inshore trout and redfish fishing. He has been asking about fishing for sac-a-lait. I know nothing about it other than information I have found online. Obviously not asking for anyone to tell me exactly where to go but any advice on where we could launch kayaks within a couple of hours of the northshore where we may could find some fish so we can start learning how to fish them would be appreciated.

Bayou lacombe. Fish are probably staged in deeper water. I’m talking 8-12 feet. If you have a depth finder, you may find a few. Good luck. Tube jigs under cork or just tightlined

We used to fish sacalait like crazy when I was a kid using those long telescopic poles with a tube jig, trolley motor up to a brush top and just work that thing all over. I bet the same thing would work well in a yak. Pearl River Canal, Bayou Lacombe and what is now Bogue Chitto State Park. I recall hearing they’re real sensitive to sound so would have to watch that much in a yak.
