Will be used for plinking, squirrel and rabbits. I always assumed I'd get a red dot when I got one, but is that good for squirrels/rabbits? I'd like to stay below $150 but would go up a bit if that's not realistic.

I'm about to roll with a Vortex Spitfire 1301, eta: might not be best for squirrels.

I put a cabelas rimfire 2x7x32 scope on mine. Think I paid $70 for it, no issues. I originally had a red dot on it and tried to squirrel hunt with it and couldn’t hit shite.

I put this one on mine (now my son's)

UTG bug buster

Link is to Optic Planet. The scope has held zero and had done a good job. Been pleased especially with the price ($80)

I also just purchased a Sig Sauer whiskey 3 3x9x40 on ebay for $105 brand new. I really like it so far, surprisingly clear lens for that kind of price.
