In my saddle next to some thick bedding. Saw a couple bucks and a couple does yesterday evening here, but I was set up about 60 yards off the bedding and they held tight to it. Slipped in about 25 yards from the thicket this morning. If I would’ve been in this tree yesterday, I would’ve had a shot at one of the bucks. They probably won’t come out today since I’m set up where I need to be. That’s how it usually goes

How is the rut looking there in Russell County?
I talked to a guy yesterday that told me he saw a good bit of chasing in the Black Belt this past weekend, which is awfully late for that area.

Bucks definitely on their feet saw several decent bucks on the drive up last night as we have seen several cruising this morning.
I hunted bullock co years ago before they changed the end of season date and killed one of the biggest deer I ever killed on the last day of the season Jan 31 and he was chasing.

We had a great sit together and he was surprisingly quiet. Had 4 young bucks come within 35 yards and he didn’t scare them off. It helped it was pretty windy to break up our sound.
