A newborn is the perfect reason to get out of the house.

Plus, if he/she's like mine, they couldn't care less if you're around for the first six months anyway.

2 does walked out. Picked the fat spooky one. 150 yards and the 280 was true as could be.

I have 5 stands I see deer on almost like clock work. Let's see if I can go 5 for 5 in hunts/ kills

Saw 20 deer
8 does, 10 yearlings, spike, 4pt

Fellow member killed a 220# cull buck. 6pt, gray around eyes, sunken in eyes
Had his shed from last year. Maybe grew an extra 2" on right side with maybe total score of 35" on right horn
No telling how many does he's bred with his inferior horns

Ended up seeing 12 today (3 bucks 9 doe) in the piney woods of Attalah County. We don't manage the property and have trouble with neighbors trespassing and surrounding leases running dogs through the property so hunting quality is kinda poor there but I figured it was rut time and said what the hell.

Climbed down from my perch above the 26 acre cutover at 1 pm to move to an inside pocket that also has lots of rut sign. At 2:00 this lil guy walks out to check some scrapes.

After recovering him I decided to stay till dark and sit over the cut over once again. Between sundown and dark 2 young bucks were running the 9 doe around the cut over. None of the does were ready but it was hell of a lot of fun to watch.

Heading back tomorrow.

Oh after I shot the young buck I pulled the cards on my camera and this guy was on it...hadn't checked the camera since I put it out in early December. Hoping he's still around and makes an appearance. He's a nice buck considering the circumstances we face there.
