I prefer to think he developed debilitating hemorrhoids tending to the privet cuttings and now he can do nothing but lay flat in bed knowing they’re slowly drying up and withering in the greenhouse.

There’s a better chance of them growing enough that they latched the greenhouse closed and are turning into an impenetrable ball than withering away
