Yeah I dont get the fierce dedication those guys have for Lews. Seems like alot of them throw Bates now. I wonder if they give the guides promotional pro staff deals and that has trickled down to market share.

I personally have no experience with Bates but the only 3 guys I know that have them have all had problems. One had a problem, sent it in for repair and next trip had another problem. Another guy had it blow up on his first trip. Some simple problems like the insert coming out of the line guide and others were bigger problems.
Idk anyone that has a deal with them but the big name guides that claim them as the best reel on the market I know all got them for free.
They may end up being ok as they’re still new to the market but for the price tag to me just seems like a good looking reel with a hell of a marketing team.

They're built like tanks but I was talked out of one by a guy who sells all brands.
This was before their DC reel came out, curious about that one. Spinning reel looks cool too.

Best guide deal in the business and very good reels make lews a no brainer. Like I have said before, mine get abused and zero cleaning but still keep on working. My oldest lite is going on 5 yrs and has never been serviced and rinsed off a couple of times.

I have a lews custom inshore that I’m a big fan of. It’s a damn good reel.
