You should field test them. Then mark them with a sharpe so we know which one are good.

That really turned out great man! I remember your thread about it. Any reason you decided to go with a single reason, and not a double?

i have a book on making wooden duck calls but i have not yet tried dont know who wrote it but did you just go from scratch or did you use any type of book or resource.
Hell i can't tune the ones i have sure as hell couldn't tune one i made.

I don't like double reeds. All mine are single reeds

I bought a "public jig" for the insert and got it close then fine tuned from there. I pretty much just took some measurements from my other calls and went from there. I practiced on cheap oak and fine tuned the shape and somewhat the sound before I moved on to pricier wood, which this one was the first. I have some acrylic blanks I will try at some point as well.
Also, I have no intention to sell any of them. It's just something for me to piddle with right now. I will give some as gifts to friends and some customers.
