On another note i'd make sure to build a big pond or take pics of a big pond before i posted pics on here

OK, I've seen the pond on page 13. I wanting one about 10 acres bigger.

To the OP. Before start digging, you need to know the layout of your land. Will you be putting in a water well? How does the land drain? How will you get any dischage overflow away from the pond?
Wind plays a big roll in a pond along with sun lite. Google pond managment. More to it then just digging a hole.

don't stock it with anything invasive/exotic - Tilapia, etc. they will get right into the bayou. PS, Manchac is a scenic river regulated by LDWF.
