They are a handful. Mine is currently upset at an oak tree in the yard

My youngest likes to the dog park and get other dogs to chase him. Almost none chase him more than one lap and when we leave he still has energy.

They are energizer bunnies for sure.

If you're ever Texas way this winter we should do a hunt. I'm planning on getting after the woodcock and snipe

I don't think I will, I have a woodcock camp now and last year I had so many invites I couldn't take advantage of them all. It is a good problem to have...

PapaPogey, I bought your buddy's GSP a few weeks ago but things did not work out. My little boy was terrified of the puppy so we had to return her after a week. She is a fine GSP and will be a really good dog.

Also, your buddy is a great guy. He understood the concerns we had with my son and allowed us to buy the puppy with the option to return her if needed. Hopefully he will get past this fear and we can get GSP in the future.

Are german wirehairs and wirehair griffons pretty much the same thing?

not really, they just kinda look the same. I'm personally not a fan of the shaggy dog look that Griffons have. My GWP is relatively short coat

Yeah. I like dogs with short coats, but I think the wirehairs look awesome.

Does the frisbee screw him up for hunting?

I'm getting a lot of pressure from my wife and son to get a new dog. GSP's are on the short list, along with a corgi or a boxer. I've only had boxers in the past. For those that have them, does a GSP make a good pet? The only bird dogs I've been around were English pointers which were all high strung, hard headed dogs that wouldn't make good house pets. Ours would just be a pet, no hunting.
