OP, that's a beautiful animal and not one many people see in our state from what I understand. Honestly, I don't think I could take a shot at it if given the chance since there's so few of them in the wild unlike deer or hogs.


I think the only way I'd pull the trigger on a black bear is if it were zeroing in on me in an all out attack mode. But it is my understanding that they are far less aggressive than brown bears, especially grizzlies and Kodiaks.

Plenty in the wild, gumbo. Probably coming to woods near you. It’s neat for a while. Then you realize you have an overgrown coon that you can’t shoot. Ones eaten about halfway through my 4x4 support post on my shoot house.
