Just realized the numbers in this link are the same as the ones you posted. And also did some math. Only three million people live in Louisiana and I'm pretty sure half of them don't die every year.

All the people that are on this board love where they are from and I would say are from good families. A family could grow up in Alaska and say they have the best life ever and its a great place to live and work ect

There are other places very close by that offer this without the shortcomings that Louisiana has.

Maybe hunting, but the fishing isn't even close. Plus I think most here would agree that the shortcomings LA has are very easily avoided and/or never actually affect my daily life.

La. is underrated. People still have some romantic ideal about Texas but unless you are an urban or suburban dweller, it's not much different than La. You can just escape the poverty stricken areas a little easier.
in 20 years, Texas will start becoming more like California, without the scenery.
