At one point in my life I enjoyed catching these fish. They fight hard and are kinda acrobatic. Caught 8 of the biggest ones I've ever seen today. First one had my last chartreause spinnerbait in his mouth so I just let him wear himself out. Got him to the boat and had braided line wrapped around my hand when he caught his second wind and dug the line in 2 fingers.

Tempted to get a .22 pistol just for these bastards.

I always seem to hook them in a spot where I think a huge bass should be. I think I have a 6lber and then I pull up one of those slimy bastards.

They're fun to catch, and fight hard, I caught one the other day on a small beetle spin, I didn't know WTF it was

The bite today was like a bass just picked it up lightly. I set the hook on a big one and I swear that thing shot out the water like a salwater fish. All I could do was hang on.

We caught about 10 at Big Alabama Saturday.

One was about 10 pounds.
Swallowed a crankbait, glad it wasn't mine.

I love my braid for spinnerbaits but that shite will cut you.

All my mono is 17lbs so I don't really have to worry about losing a bait

I believe the state record is somewhere in the 16 lb range. Ive weighed a few, but the largest was only 13 lbs. You would think some of those bastards are at least 20.

I've never seen a choupique that wasn't 4 pounds. I thought they were born that way.

Once when I was fishing out of a flat-boat, I caught a bazillion of the things in my old honey-hole, so I started throwing them into the back of the boat. Later I noticed splashing and the damn things had knocked the plug out of the boat and it almost swamped.
