I can't catch anything

Frustrating as hell. Lake Mitchell Alabama, typical lake house we rent each year. I've never had a problem catching bream, using them for bait and getting a few blue cats for dinner.
2 days, I've got 2 spotted bass on live bream, and a gar. I cast netted a big arse golden shiner for cut bait. 4 rods out for about 12 hours now. Not a damn nibble on live bream, cut bream, cut shiner, minnows, worms, nothing.

I taught my kids this and every morning they say
“Dad. Let’s check the trot line”.

Go to Walmart and touch/lick everything.
You'll catch something

Not applicable so much to you but I live on a lake and this time of year can suck. But for the last few years I've been placing brush out in 15 feet of water. Now most of those places are loaded up with crappie. So I guess I'm saying sometimes we have to help these old lakes out a bit in terms of habitat.

Last night was cook what I've caught night. At the buzzer I landed a 5 lb blue cat to feed the family. That and 3 bass.
Fishing was a comedy of errors the entire time. Caught a gar which tangled the shite out of my lines. Caught a big arse softshell turtle in the paw and it tangled up my lines even more. Waves from the 20000 boats Saturday broke the rope on my bait bucket and all of my bait got out.
There was some sort of structure that as soon as a fish would hit the line it would head straight down to it and get me caught up. Lost so much damn tackle but got dinner, got the daughters out on the kayak to catch some bream.

Try fishing artificial? I never fish with live bait.

One of my daughters is obsessed with turtles, no way that was happening. She cried because I hooked it.
I fished everything, artificial, toughies, whatever I cast netted up, worms. Just weren't biting. I ended up downsizing my rigs from 7/0 to 1/0 with worms to get some small channels to fry whole. Caught a bream on it and threw that out live on a 1/0, that's what the blue cat ate.
I cast netted enough bass and bream to feed an army but I don't like breaking the law and pissing off the karma gods
