"It's more of a place to go and and spend the night on my permanently owned land. Looking to spend under 10k. I have a 40ft shipping container I use for storage. While they are affordable and tough, I don't want to have to cut and join them. They are narrow. I want something that is about 20ft by 30ft. I was thinking about building a raised foundation and setting one of those metal garages on top and closing it in. Figured I'd ask for ideas. I've had a 28ft FEMA trailer under an awning. It was ok but too narrow. I want something more spacious. Thanks for the ideas and keep them coming if you have a setup around the size I'm thinking"
Not sure where you are located but look into Graceland buildings, they come in different sizes up to 16' wide. The dealer close to me had a repo 16x40 he was willing to sell for around 9k, a new one is 13-14k. that is delivered and set up.
The inside could be done cheap with insulation and paneling as one be open room. Are you can drop some serious coin in one.
If you go metal, you will still need to build 2x4 interior walls, if you go with a Graceland building the interior wall system will be in place
just my thoughts

I’ve heard of a few people actually going through with these. The container really isn’t that expensive.
From what I've seen, the amount of time, effort, and money you have to put into these things negates the idea.

Are you on a flood plain?
Our property is and we have to build anything up about 3-5 feet off the ground.
Buy a new/used mobile home then anchor and secure it to the ground on your property then add on

Not on a flood plain but having it raised is a plus. A small mobile home at the right price would do the trick I'm thinking. Will research more on that end

you need a finished floor in most seacans...the plywood and subfloor are soaked with a pretty toxic insecticide
