The one in the pic is just over 10lbs, but they had a couple others that were slightly bigger

Supposedly Hurricane Sandy stirred a bunch of these big lobsters up last year, and these were some of them. I'm not sure how true that is or not though....

Lobster mini season info:

quote:

Every July the coastal areas of Florida are flooded with lobster hunters trying to get their share of this year's bounty when the offical mini lobster season kicks off. There are two Florida Lobster Seasons, the 2 day mini season and the 8 month regular lobster season. The mini lobster season is always the last consecutive Wednesday and Thursday in July. This year the mini season falls on July 24th and 25th. Make sure to always verify dates and regulations with Florida Fish and Wildlife It begins at 12:01 am on Wednesday and ends at 12:00 midnight on Thursday. The regular 8 month lobster season is always August 6 through March 31.

Just give me 10 pounds of crawfish from Tony's Seafood and you can keep that big mudbug of yours.

Love me some Tony's Seafood.

That lobster would actually not taste that good when compared to the standard 1 1/4 pound lobster
