he's asking $900. got him down to $850. these tires have to be at least 4 years old. the KO2s haven't been around for too long. "80% tread with a matching spare that hasn't seen the road." i mainly need the wheels for my Jeep, but i can ride around with the tires for awhile before i'm forced to buy new.

eta: 33x12.50r15 by the way.

Not much. I had 2 of a set of 4 go bad on me at once (same trip), egged up but didn't blow out thank goodness. Those in the pic might/probably have dry rot/cracking.

yeah. about $180-$200 depending on where you go. but the ones above are the KO and they've been discontinued for about 4-5 years now.

check the sidewall.

KO

KO2

You're a skilled negotiator. You must have read The Art of the Deal and/or talk people out of hostage situations routinely.

all i asked was if the price was negotiable. and that's what he said, i haven't countered yet. i tend to hurt peoples feelings with my counter offers because i speak truths.

i want to say, "i don't know man. that seems like a lot for a 4 year old tire. they discontinued them back in 2014/2015. I'm thinking $600 since you have a matching spare."

There’s a code on tires that will tell you the year. I’d bet they’re older than 4 years old. I’d pass myself. Those had quiet a few failures I’ve heard about from friends. I’m actually running the KO2’s currently.

Want some 35 ko2s?

Email me

I sold a similar set as the OP to an OB poster.

Mainly wanted them gone.

Pretty sure he gave me like 200? Didn't tell him the wheels were worth 5x that

All of this. I would pass on them as well. I had some tires on an older car I had that looked to be in great shape. Unfortunately, the tread separated on the rear passenger tire while I was driving down I-12 late one evening. The shop I brought it to told me the tires were quite old based on that code mentioned and it's common for older tires to separate like that.

FWIW, I'm running KO2s on my 4Runner. Just had those installed about two months ago.

i had to pass. he wouldn't budge.

"i know they're old, but i know what kind of shape they're in and how long they'll last."

told him i might as well buy new and passed.

You made the correct call. I had a set of those anyway and they were the worst tire I have ever ran. I know they had a lot of fans, but I was not one of them.

Stock or no? I’ve been toying with the idea of a samauri, but I want something I can drive 3 hours to a trail. That and the though of hill climbing with a carb engine doesn’t sound super promising.
