Stockish tires and the eeds say the water wasnt that deep.

Ill bet dollars to pesos you have a brake drum full of water.

There are ways to fix the honda rear end design flaw that are cheap.

Drill and tap a grease fitting into the rear drum, fill the brand new rear brake drum with grease.

Brakes will still work fine, and you eill never have a rear seal bearing failure for the life of the bike as long as you keep the oil in the rear end fresh.

As long as you realize you have the exception, but dont claim they are as reliable as when everything was made in Japan and Mr. Honda ran the company with an iron fist.

Ive owned honda, yamaha, grizzly, all of them...if I was buying new again...Id buy a hold over 800 sportsman. As long as they are serviced, they were bulletproof. If they werent, they were garbage.

If I couldnt find a holdover 800 sportsman... 700 grizzly, then 450 grizzly, then probably a rincon, just because Id be trailriding at that point rather than needing the torque to work the bike.

Its just another example of things not being made like they used to be...

The amount of honda riders who used to insult the reliability of every other brand while buying parts were staggering.

Oh...if dead set on the honda...dont get the camo!

It peals. Usually within a year.

That sucks.

I wanted that Can-Am but they only give a six month warranty.

Honda warranty was like 2 years I think.

I was looking at the new 2014 Foremans and the seat looks much smaller. I wonder if that will affect when I ride my son with me?

Goat - why Fuel Injected over Carbed? Are there positives and negatives of both? And what is the best fuel to run in these things?

Thanks

I have no problem with honda carbs. The keihen carbs are easier to deal with than the mikuni yamaha used in my experience.

Regular 87 makes the most power on a stock bike. None of the engines that arent race bikes have high enough compression to require more octane.

If you can find actual ethanol free fuel, run it.

As for fuel injrcted...works great. But a little more difficult for the average joe to work on.

None of them start as quickly as an old properly tuned aircooled honda motor.

So if I were to get a power steering model and the power steering unit goes out. Can I just remove the PS unit and go on as if it was never there or do I have to repair it?

You dont even have to remove it. Quite a few plastic parts in there.

The good news...and I truly dont know how...is Ive only seen like three powersteering failures from any manufacturer.

I went with the non EPS model when I had my 800 popo...regretted it every time I was in cypress knees. It was no lightweight 300 Honda...I could work up a sweat turning that big boy. Over 5 mph with any of them and you wont notice the EPS.

I have narrowed down to the Foreman Manual Shift with EPS and the Rubicon with EPS. About $750 more for the Rubicon.

Friendly is usually the cheapest on Honda...GN is usually a little cheaper on yamaha.

Get the foreman...change all the fluids at 10 hours... then itll be basic maintenance forever unless you do something dumb.

Goat,

What do you think about the King Quad's? Looking at the 2014 Foreman no ES or EPS and the Polaris Sportsman 550.

The polaris has the best ride and engine and true four wheel drive
Im an atv mechanic and all I would buy is Polaris or Yamaha.

Honda is 75 percent of my work. I love electric shift and their piece of shite rearends wheel bearings & brakes.
