Holsun 403b defective?

I bought an extar ep9 for super cheap recently. I got a Holsun 403b to put on it. I was super pumped and finally got to sight it in today. The damn thing would not move the zero. The gun was really accurate but no matter how many clicks I moved it would not move the zero. I sweated my balls off until I noticed the front glass had folded in. I did not notice this when I unboxed it and mounted it. What could cause this? PSA is going to refund me. I really liked this one due to price and reviews. Did I get a one off dud? I’m not sure I could ever trust one of these again. Recs for a budget red dot? I don’t want to spend more than I have in the gun.

You just got a bad Holosun. I have several and they all work extremely well.
I have a new Holosun 507k x2 and the new Sig Romeo x pro.
They are built identical except for the battery.

... and or a Trijicon. I just put a new Trijicon RMR on my latest P320 build and I'm starting to like it better than the Romeo X Pro.
I like the Trijicon SRO as well.
I put a bunch of rounds down range today ... my hand and fingers are sore. I've not shot a 1000 rounds in an afternoon in awhile. And I'm just now really getting into the red dots reflex sights.
The big question these days are, open or closed reflex sights?

Well a bit if a different price point
My Holosun has never once given me an issue. I have no issues buying them in the future. Seems like the OP got a dud. I wouldn't let the one issue affect getting them in the future.

I have a Holosun EPS carry (closed emitter), Vortex Venom, and a Trijicon RMR HD. I bought enclosed for everyday carry. I'll end up doing yard work or just random stuff. Sweaty and dirty clothes. I felt the enclosed was the way to go there and the Holosun EPS carry really has the best sizing for that. The Trijicon and AimPoint options are huge for a pistol. The Venom is just a backup sight on my AR. The RMR HD is a bit nicer than the EPS carry, but it cost twice as much. The auto adjust feature works really well and the sight picture is easier to use due to size .
