I dislike the ergos, I think they are ugly as sin and I think they feel like a toy.

I don't hate them, I just have zero desire to own one.

Not at all. These are my favorite threads. I would own a 1911 this year, but I have purchased 7 guns this year so far. One is that XDs and 6 ARs.

I don't think I can bring anything else home without getting cut off from the Misses' "Stash".

Exactly. The Safety will lock into place with too high of a grip. The beavertail will bite the webbing of your hand if it isn't increased and beveled. The internal extractor spring will fail to eject brass. The magazine angle has to be exact or it will not feed. The ejection port has to be flared in order to eject reliably. You have to be concerned with what brand of magazine you use, what type of bullet you shoot, how that bullet is shaped, and how much that bullet weighs.
At fist I was all

Oh, wait that is the 1911. You don't have to worry about any of that on a Glock. Carry On..
And then I was all :omg:

I own two. Honestly, great pistols. Very easy to shoot, go bang every time, feed any ammo, easy to disassemble, easy to maintain.

No hate on my end for Glocks. My CCW is a Glock 19.

But as stated, the grip is pretty terrible on them. They don't feel very good in my hand.

And, this is just me, but I personally shoot a hell of a lot more accurate with any 1911 than a Glock.

The switch in ergonomics, "plastic" as oppose to metal, and loose tolerances that make a handgun that isn't as accurate as what people were shooting before are what started the hatred.

The fact of the matter is that glock is a pistol that serves a specific purpose. It protects people (cops and carriers) because it has unheard of reliability and a double than "normal" capacity. The fact of the matter is you don't have to have pinpoint accuracy to protect yourself within 30 feet.

I believe that the M&P is is the perfect combination fwiw

XDs-
I think you will like it. There is some recoil no doubt. Especially when I shoot it left handed only (my weak hand). It is damn accurate for what it is and becomes much more manageable with the 7 round magazine. The 5 round magazines are not unreasonable to shoot/hold- just a handful. I didn't get it for a plinker though. It replaced my Glock for CC. It also ran JHP and Ball with no jams/FTFs. So, 3 boxes in and it is rolling along with not 1 issue.

(Kind of like a Glock)

That and they're pretty much idiot guns. Any idiot with 20 minutes of instruction can shoot one decently. No offense, Josey.

Sissy boys with petite hands and bitch tits saw the stone cold killers using Glocks so they ran out and bought them only to find out their dainty paws and manicured digits couldn't grip the manly girth of the Glock so they cried about ergonomics.

Then they complained about the Glocks jamming and couldn't figure out why the slide was biting them on the wrist. Despite the fact that most of them couldn't manage 3 pushups it couldn't be that they were limp wristing, it had to be the weapons fault.

None taken.

I'm a lover of all pistols and owner of a lot of them. I do enjoy my Glocks for all of the good reason mentioned in this thread.

Think it has more to do with the trigger than ergos? Just wondering

Idiot proof guns? I don't own one. I do own the others. I probably will never own one because I think the other polymer framed guns have made them obsolete but when they came out they were revolutionary.

Probably both.

That reminds me, the trigger on Glocks suck.

And I also feel it's a little shitty to call the debate 1911 vs Glock.
1911 is a platform, Glock is a name brand. Tons of companies make a 1911 so there's bound to be a few shitty ones.

If we're gonna point out the flaws of the low end of a platform then Glocks are shite because they're polymer pistols like High Pernts.

Trigger is everything to me. And getting used to one vs another. My Ruger has a fairly light trigger but its longer than anything I'm used to. Just thinking striker vs hammer fired has a much different feel.
