just got the invite today from a good friend. I am super pumped. Was shown a pic of a bass that went over 8# caught out of it several weeks ago. I've never fished a lake like this before. I know it's somewhere in the Natchez Ferriday area.
Will post some pics if i catch anything.

Private lake on private land. I guess you could say that.

I'd have to throw a swim bait a while. I couldn't resist in that setting.

My old boss had a big spread in Mississippi with a nice lake (or pretty big pond). He and a few buddies had a little tournament one year and caught over 200 bass, with over 80 of them over 5 pounds. Don't recall what the biggest weighed. That place was like heaven.

Fished a private pond by my house with lots of grass. Wat/red senkos and flukes were a bite nearly every cast. If it's closer to summer with warm water with grass pads or lily pads I'd be throwing Ribbets or other top water just to see the fix blow up on it.
Nothing gets you fired up like seeing bass busting up your baits on top the water.

8# baws

23". Caught on small bass colored crank bait.

Cute little 6#'er for a kicker

Caught over 10 bass all above 2# except for one little one. Bad arse day on the water. Buddy of mine also caught a nice 4# and had a 6# spit the hooks at him

Tore the big bass up yesterday on a silver broken back crank bait that dives 3-5 feet by Live Target. Caught 8 over 5.

Evidently this place doesn't have much in the means of bait fish. No shad and very few bream. I'm guessing the bass are canibilizing themselves since the only thing they wanted was a smallish shallow diving Bandit crankbait that looked like a baby bass. We threw everything we could think of at them but this was the bait they wanted. Where did you fish at?

Looks like Giles to me.

I love jig fishing those cypress trees in that area.

Pond/private "trophy" lake bass = are not truly wild = not a true trophy.

Might as well save the trouble and buy something already stuffed off Ebay.

Well brotha, the lake Ties into the Tensas river so I could care less what you think. That bass was the largest by far I've ever caught in my 43 years of age and I'm pretty damned stoked about it. Especially since my buddy who I fished with usually wears my arse out when we freshwater fish together and I caught big bass and well over twice as many fish as he did.
