Have any of you handled a 28ga Ethos Sport?

If so what did you think of the balance and swing? I have heard is it butt heavy which is fine for flushing birds but I would want to shoot doves as well, and occasionally clays.

i find the 28ga more of a novelty and not actually logical for the field.

You might be surprised. I have done well with the 28 when used appropriately.

It and the 16 are the only true ‘square loads.’

That’s pretty cool, never seen a square load.

The 28ga is a pretty sweet shooting gun. It can do a lot more than people think, You don’t need a 12ga and 3 1/2” shells just to kill some birds.
I would love to get in a good timber hole with just 28’s or a Teal shoot.

I want a Benelli ultralite in 28ga

No but I have an 1100 in 28 gauge and it is death to anything it is aimed at.

It is the perfect small game shotgun in the right hands.

One of my closest friends only dove hunts with a .28.

He’s probably the best shot I’ve ever seen that isn’t a pro though.

Lighter gun with a tighter pattern helps one become a better shot.

Brothers got an automatic mossberg 28 gauge that's damn nice. Really surprised by it.

I have it and love it. Have not had the chance to take it dove hunting yet but I love it for sporting clays

Nice. How is the swing on clays? Do you have to drive it any?

It’s great on clays. I bought it for when I actually get to go small bird hunting and to make me a better shot for clays / waterfowl.

I have it in the 12 gauge and 28 and they are the smoothest guns I’ve ever shot

ETA: I have no clue what it means to “drive” a shotgun.

Thanks! That is good info. Think I will pick one up.

Drive means to actively push the gun, in this case with the hand on the forend.
