That is a good looking pup. My friend has one of these and they get fricking huge! Great dog. What did you name him?

You think that's just a cute picture of your cat with the puppy, but that cat is quietly sitting back and planning how to kill the dog.

It may never get the opportunity to act on it, but it's definitely thinking it over.

I plan on having a tracking collar on him and no leash. and no sarcasm his dad was really that big, that's lean and mostly muscle. His mom was in the 85-90 pound range.

Hopefully not the case here. With their size a mean ridgeback is a serious problem. I spent a good bit of time with the breeder and all of his dog were extremely sweet especially the males.

The gray one I dont have to worry about, the orange cat in the chair that you can barely see is the problem. I'm pretty sure he watches me at night planning my demise

Thank God. At first I thought that was it's name with a weird spelling.

I've always been a fan of this breed and wanted one but I know I couldn't give it the regular exercise the breed requires.

Congrats you you!

Yes, we had one many years ago as a pet . Like has been said they have a mind of their own and sometimes do not obey! One other important trait, no matter how often you wash that breed, they constantly carry a particular odor and are not a good dog to keep indoors all the time.

Beautiful pup, pardner. Enjoy him. I have enjoyed “unique” breeds over the years. I have Fila Brasileiros now along with a Rotty. The Filas are absolutely a family dog and protective beyond belief. Breed saying, “If you do not live here, I am NOT your friend”.

I’m really not shitting on your idea just trying to help you out, but this doesn’t seem like a great idea. Easy tracks are fine to do this, if they go under 100 yards. But this dog is going to have instincts outside of blood trailing like say a bloodhound. If he runs into a rabbit, deer, raccoon, etc. it’s very likely his natural instincts will kick in over his blood trailing and he’s going to chase. Without being on a leash you are going to have a hard time knowing what he’s doing if that happens.
