my buddy just got a new 16' aluminum boat and he's all about trying to fish around southwest pass. i told him aint no way in hell im going across the bay and into the gulf in a 16' boat. so we compromised and will launch by the state park at the point, head north just west of the beach and go try our luck at trash pile.

Yep, the last couple of weeks of west and northwest winds have really improved the water quality. It wouldn't be a bad idea to give the trash pile, blue point, and hammock areas a shot.

Looks like with this lack of rain the salinity levels have been on the rise, the river is still a little high though.

Catching alot of Red's in the bay right now, even caught a few trout at the Avery which is not far from the trash pile.

Go fish the banks and you should catch some reds for sure!
