I'm looking for recommendations for a handgun safe that I can have quick access to if needed, but also to provide protection from my children accessing the gun. It would be for an S&W M&P 9 Shield Plus.

Before posting this, I came across LINK which looks like it would fit my needs. Does anyone have experience with it?

Where would you place the gun storage box? Nightstand, drawer, ?

ETA: I have one like this that is mounted on the wall on side of the nightstand.

I have a couple of Vaultek products and highly recommend them. One is in my nightstand and worth every dollar for the peace it gives me. LINK

Any of the little pistol safes activated by combination or fingerprint will do the job. I find it insane that not everybody secures their bedside pistol with one.

I have one like this Sentry that’s perfect for keeping in my bedside table. Fingerprint or button combo. Totally kid-proof but accessible in seconds.

Won’t fit a long barrel revolver but any other pistol fits fine
