Are there any piers to fish or beach y'all recommend to fish? We are headed down next week it's my first trip there.
Also my salt water fishing experience is pretty slim, so any help on what to use, ect would be great.

I don't know the gulfport area but the Bay St.Louis harbor has a lighted pier. Throw some live or dead shrimp on the bottom and under a cork. Easy for a beginner and your best bet at catching fish.
That being said, you should see if Shore Thing Charters has any openings, they always catch the hell out of fish and seem like good guys.

Im assuming you're talking about Gulfport, MS. A lot of people fish around the rocks and pier at the end of Courthouse road where it runs out into Hwy 90. Throw shrimp on the bottom and you'll find something to pull your line.

Go down to Biloxi and turn left on Myrtle Street by The Palace Casino. They have a large fishing pier I think you can possibly drive on maybe cannot remember. Might be just walking only but it is lighted and a fairly nice bridge. Make a drop shot rig setup and fish the bottom with dead market shrimp. You may have to adjust your weights depending on how the current is running, just make sure you can touch the bottom and keep it there. The place should normally have water moving in the area between the back bay and the gulf. Good luck

Yup... They will put you on some fish and all are solid dudes. They got a pretty good size triple tail a few days ago.

My parents had a condo down there that got destroyed by Katrina and never rebuilt. I had some of the best wade fishing trips ever down there.
Here are my top two spots and you can look them up on Google maps.
1. Between 41st and 42nd Avenue there is a large, square concrete drainage "canal (not sure technical name). Early in the morning cast along side it and work your way to it's mouth. There is a pretty big drop off at it's mouth.
2. Directly across from Woodward there is another culvert that had a pretty deep dropoff at the mouth.
In the early morning with the incoming tide we would start wading at the large canal and then work our way over to the "Woodward" culvert fishing every culvert on the way. Once done fishing at the Woodward culvert we would wade out in the gulf and fish the drop off (seem to think it was 150-200 yards out).
For redfish we had best luck with chartreuse cocohoe minnows with red tails. Same with the trout but dead shrimp worked just as good and picked up a lot of flounder too. I would put some split shot 18" above the hook and use half of a dead shrimp.
The maintenance men at our condo caught one morning we were there a 4ft redfish at the Woodward culvert.
