Cooking question.
Have a charcoal pit. I'm assuming we could cook something in a pot by just setting it on there?
Have some crawfish/shrimp and don't want it to spoil if it comes down to it.

If anyone gets damage and needs to know if they need to file a claim, let me know and I will try to help. I am and independent adjuster and don't want to see you file a claim for minor damage. Also please note that most, though not all policies in Louisiana have a hurricane deductible that is normally higher than the regular deductible. It can be as high as 2-5% of the insured value of the property. What this means is if the home is insured for $200k and you have a 2% deductible, you would need to have more than $4k in damages before the insurance will pay a penny...

Just use a cast iron pot. We cook with Dutch ovens all the time camping.
Rule of thumb for baking stuff is 2/3 coals on top 1/3 on bottom. For cobblers and such once you smell it baking it's just about done.
For cooking stews and stuff if you have some fire bricks place in the grill to help direct heat to pot bottom.
