Anyone else trying it out this week? I haven't been down there yet this year. Wind doesn't look great, but should be a beautiful few days at least.

Best surf fishing trip I ever made was Elmers Is. in May with a north breeze.

Fished Caminada Friday late afternoon and evening before a storm rolled in.

Caught a few monsters in the pass free lining shrimp. One was over 5 lbs, which is my personal best. We also caught some on the backside of the island too.

Saturday was a wash. Too windy.
Sunday AM was no good either.

Fish are there for sure.

I was down there all weekend and the water was really high the entire time. The last couple of weeks the water was clean but of course, with the wind the water was dirty again. I caught some nice trout on the backside of the island the first weekend of May. I was wondering about the trout being on the beach too but I bet they are getting there.

I'm hoping for nice weather for Memorial Day weekend for some Snapper and AJ's.

Yes they are. Caught 101 last week in a pontoon boat in the surf. All good size fish. One was between 3-4 lbs.

What's the situation out there? Do you park at the end of the dirt road and walk all of your crap in?
