Update** they just posted that it looks like they won’t be open this weekend. On to plan B, if y’all have any camp recommendations send them my way.
Any word on the state park? I know the powers still out, but wondering what kind of damage there was outside of that (for the rest of the island too). Had our annual camping trip planned for this weekend, trying to figure out if we need to reschedule or find a new spot.

Local newscast this AM in NO said the island still had no power and the State Park was one of several State Parks that are still closed.
No word on the actual condition of the facility.

Go to their Facebook page, they posted an update this morning... Copied below
quote:
Howdy, folks! The park is still CLOSED. We do not know when we will reopen, but we will post an update when we do. Sorry about the lack of updates over the weekend. The electricity went out around 4pm Friday and the cellular internet was knocked out around 9pm Friday. Power was restored to our maintenance area around 7:30pm on Sunday, but the rest of the park is still without electricity. Things got a little hairy here Friday and Saturday. We had ferocious winds and severe road flooding in the park. None of the park buildings flooded and the campground stayed above water. All the water has since receded. Please be patient while we work on clearing debris and getting the park back in shape. Hopefully electricity will be restored soon. We'll keep you posted!
