Killed my first gobbler last season after 3 years of hunting hard and learning hard lessons.

Extremely satisfying. Sounds much better than any synthetic call.

Still need to sand it smooth.

You’ve taken it to another level. They will strike one up with nothing else will

Wingbone and Trumpet will get birds to gobble when nothing else will.

Congratulations!

Thanks. It’s my most treasured trophy for sure. I’ve killed some really nice bucks in my time too.

while we're talking wingbones, I called this public land monster up with mine last year on opening day.

with everything from peacock calls to honking horns on the road going on around me with the circus that is public land turkey hunting nowadays, he slipped in unannounced.

mine are too that I made, but I bought that one from aj hiney of hiney's wingbones. he sands, tunes, paints and epoxies them. they're very durable.

Hey mud, is the a hiney call? Are they worth the hype? I haven’t heard one being played but I bet they sound good

yes it's a hiney call. it sounds great, and is hell on the gobblers when nothing else will work.

Damn you bastards now I have to have a wingbone call too….

Bought an old one made by Richard Dickson for a NWTF event from 1988 that someone just put on shelve to see if I like it before shelling out 100 bucks for those nice ones

I thought you were SUPPOSED to kill one and make it from that bird.

Maybe that’s just me lol

There’s some good instructional videos on YouTube. It’s definitely a unique sound that more accurately mimics the “air” of a hen

I've got 2 I made from birds I've killed and 1 from a hen I had as a pet, but I bought one of his for a graduation gift and got one for myself. they're not hard to make, but tuning them correctly definitely makes a difference.

Go look up Peter Wentworth in Sanford, Maine. He makes wingbones that are works of art.
Facebook.

So I sent both of mine to AJ Hiney at Hiney’s wingbones and he took them apart, cleaned and tuned them. Then he set a finish on them painting one a custom commission and shipped back to me all in about 15 days.

Incredible! Well worth it.

Nice, I had no idea he did that. I have two wingbones I've made that work perfectly fine, but I wouldn't mind having him take a look at them.

One of the hardest parts was deciding which paint scheme I wanted. I bought two, and the one I gave away for a graduation present was my favorite.

I called that one in that I killed yesterday with my Hiney wingbone. By the end of the season I'll have a nice callus on the inside of my lip in that perfect spot that is different for everyone to make them sing.

They are unrivaled in their ability to realistically perform keekee runs. They're the turkey hunting version of a true cut down call.
