I dont know if this is true anymore. I have a lifetime license personally and bought one for three of my four kids before moving to Texas. I tried to get my deer tags on Saturday at Spillway Sportsman and it would not let me because my address on my license is in Texas. It said I must be a Louisiana resident. I havent called LDWF yet to sort it out but I was aggravated to say the least.

Great idea. Good chance your kid will leave the state when they’re grown. Nice to be able to avoid NR prices when they come back.

NR fees are anti-hunting.

You got that right! We moved to MS a few years back and I made sure we all had a lifetime LA for this reason. I have since purchased my eldest son a lifetime MS card as well. Will do the same for the other two. Sadly MS is $500 under age 13 then $1000. I also purchased a lifetime gear license for crab traps as we still have a land camp in LA. Those are pretty reasonable at 10x the yearly gear fee
