How do you get those bastards off/ away? My ThermaCELL is a true gift from God but it doesn't hold back the gnats.
Also, what do you put on bites to make them go away and stop itching? I currently look like I have chicken pox on my hands.

Wasn't there some kind of victoria's secret perfume or something that people were swearing by on here during the summer? I can't remember what it was called but the name sounded whorish IIRC

skin so soft keeps them away. amber romance from victoria secret. when gnats are that bad I use those blue rubber gloves. works for me.oh and try a white paste toothpaste on your gnat bites not gel. The last time I went fishing I mixed vanilla extract and water put it in a spray bottle and it worked like the shiz.

Idk how to stop the itch, I just do not head out there w/o skin-so-soft because they'll tear you up.

I don't think there is anything that really keeps gnats off. I have a group of them that wait for me as soon as I go outside. I call them my fan club. They adore me, wait for me to come outside, then follow me all around and crawl all over me.
I hate those bastards.

I hears dryer sheets (fabric softener) are suppose to keep them away.... Never tried it.

Personally I think bug spray is the worst thing to put on. I hate it. I hate the way it smells. I hate the way it feels.
I just wear a bug net on my head that can block gnats from getting in. I also wear long sleeves and pants.
Problem solved.

Nothing works for me. Nothing. I have tried everything. Take a Benedryl to help with the itch.
I know a couple of commercial guys that run fans while they work traps.
fricking hate gnats.

I tryed every trick in the book and nothing will keep them suckers from biting the shite out of you.
The locals burn wet sacks when they get bad down there. That is about the only thing that helps, but I don't think you can do that in a boat.

That cheap no name aloe gel from Wal-Marks seems to really help the itch on me. I'm one of those people who get bit by everything.
Think I'll put some of those surgical gloves on the boat just in case.
