I had to put down my best friend today, 6 year old German Shepherd female. Best dog I have owned. Any of you have suggestions for high quality breeders in/around Louisiana?

Sorry for your loss, bud.

Six years old? That's young, what happened?

Geaux, check Facebook for Cajun Country Kennels. John has males and females that are imported from outstanding blood lines.

I don't think I'd be looking for a new dog the same day I put down my last one.

Jesus Christ man I put my GSD down 2 weeks ago today and I got teary eyed today when someone asked how he was doing.

Same day for you and you're already looking for a breeder? Get a damn cat if you don't appreciate a dog's heart.

Do what feels best for you. If you want another dog, get another dog. If you feel you should wait, wait. Losing a dog is rough. If your shepherd was anything like mine was, it would do anything to make me proud and happy, so if getting a new dog soon makes you happy, go for it.

Osteosarcoma. By the time we noticed any tumors it had already spread into her lungs. Very aggressive cancer. From diagnosis to death was 4 weeks. I am crushed.

Thanks for the suggestion of Cajun Kennels, called today and it may be a while before he has pups. The rest of you wondering why I am looking for another dog on the day I put my pepper down, I travel often and my wife trusts the protective nature of GSD’s. So. GFY if you have an issue with my planning ahead you freaking hippies

W.T.F? Not everyone’s the same. You hold your 2 year vigil and let him do him.

German Shepherds are the best. I want one so bad but don’t want all that shedding in my new house. May take a year or two

If you have time, go visit with John and check out his operation. I think you will be impressed. I had my own GSD kennel for years and trained and sold dogs. John is trying to do it right.
