My insignificant opinion:

With Shores coming back from injury, he needs longer to prepare to come in to pitch. If he gives you 5 innings with 3-4 runs you are still in it in the SEC. Cowan starting on Sunday would definitely give you a big opportunity to win, HOWEVER Shores would not be as effective as Cowan in relief. Keep them in the same spots and leave Cowan able to spot or long relief as needed. Your staff is stronger with Cowan and Evans relieving
Best case scenario for returners:

Pitchers
Anderson (doubtful but could develop a bit more)
Shores (definitely could improve his stock)
Noot (could see him returning)
Benge
Evans
Schmidt
Williams
Ware
Rizy
Mayers (definitely has stuff to be drafted but needs lots of command and secondary pitch work)
Sheerin
Primeaux
Dorsey?
Beck

Positions
Milam
Reaves?
Frey?
Arimbide
Brown
Curiel
Larson
Pearson
Ryan
Hogg
Costello
Priester?
Yamin

Definitely GONE
Eyanson
Cowan
Jones
Dickinson
Braswell
Pearson, Josh
Stanfield

Biggest questions
Gavin Guidry
Ethan Frey
Anderson
Shores
Noot
Reaves

Then why do they?
Why would he hit the portal? If his injury is as reported, why would he leave.
Agreed, but those players/future Army officers need to taste a piece of reality. They have probably not flown MILAIR at all or much. When they get done with sports, they will lead Soldiers into combat. No charter flights will happen. C-17 is a Cadillac compared to future endeavors. Go ARMY!
Best in college baseball.

Agreed…he is a freshman who caught maybe 6-8 different guys with nowhere near the stuff these pitchers have. In college he is asked to catch 15-20 pitchers with excessively more movement. It is a big learning swing to understand each of these pitchers stuff and determine whether to block or not. There is a reason catcher is the most difficult position to master.
I think they will move him around in spring and determine where he is needed. I would love to see him in the Offensive backfield, but it seems there are plenty of the same type of backs with Durham and Berry. I think he could be a very effective weapon offensively but limited

The Engineer Company in the Dome was from the 527th. All other Engineer Units came in after the storm. I was at the Dome 3 days after the storm hit after evacuating St Bernard residents via the Algiers ferry. Because of limited Comms and all of the Fed, State, Parish and city governments all being stupid as frick, it took us almost 20 hours to go from the Ferry to LAPLACE! This was on school buses brought in from other parishes. Katrina was worse than either deployment to Afghanistan or any other assignment I ad in my 30 year career.
Bowls should kick off the following year on Labor Day weekend. They would be a great opportunity to see what you have on your teams, but also be an exhibition not counting against either teams record. If you didn’t make a bowl game, then you sit out that weekend.

Imagine those ratings
Does this injury determine if he returns UGA fans?
This is the biggest question IMO for the upcoming season. We have been spoiled by Milazzo sitting the bench early and then coming in when we needed a defensive first catcher. It depends on who handles the pitching staff the best later in the season that determines who gets the most reps. The bats seem solid at Catcher, maybe excellent.

DH is gonna have to be a rotating position with all the depth. Matchups and timely hitting will be key down the stretch. I am excited to see this team.
Don’t worry, the playoff will reward all those teams that play shite schedules and win weak leagues. Most will lose badly in these games and the same 6-8 teams will play for the National Championship every year. Those 6-8 teams may have a random show up every few years, but mostly it will stay the same blue bloods. This current setting of college football is putrid and will always be left to the wealthiest teams (UM, OSU, Texas, Oregon, Bama) then you have the wealthy shite schools like Ole Miss. Until LSU can compete financially in all aspects of football, this year will be the norm.

I love LSU originals but I also like USC, Notre Dame blue and golds, UNC, Penn ST. I agree Michigan Helmets are tops. I think the coolest thing about LSU’s colors are that only 2 teams in sports can pull that combination off successfully-LSU and LA Lakers.
By the way, thanks guys for this awesome thread. I normally just lurk but i just want to appreciate all of you guys who post actual information here.
In commentary roles all these guys are good. frick em during games.
Is Tommy dropping to second round or will he be in the supplemental?
At this point it all comes down to offense and bullpen management. No team has a decisive advantage in pitching. It’s all about bashing and managing. Geaux Tigers.
