With this weeks warm temps and rain Friday and y-day we are getting a lot of stuff sprouting. I guess it’s pretty much everything except the eggplant.

I had to run another two wires on the bottom to keep the stupid cat out.

I’ll try and get pics

My first little tomatoes appeared this weekend

Plants aren't quite big enough for a cage yet, but that's on the agenda this week.

Everything in my garden is sprouted as of yesterday. Malabar spinach finally peeked through the surface. Tomato plants are going crazy...so are the zuchs and yellow squash.

Had some ladybugs on my peppers too, so that was a good sign. My only concern right now are the damn hornworms. Bastards wrecked my tomatoes last year when I was out of town for a weekend.

On your cherry tomato plants, make sure you trim off the limbs at the bottom of that plant. They aren't doing anything, but sucking up nutrients from your flowers and they can give blight to the plant due to water saturation.

The kids helped their dad pick some cucumbers yesterday. They really get a kick out of it. They are always asking to go pick cucumbers and tomatoes. It makes my heart so happy.

Once they start cutting the yard, washing car/ boat then you've hit the mother load

My zucchini plants are struggling. They seem wilted and some of the leaves are yellowing. Any ideas? I know they're not water starved. Can over watering lead to wilting too?

Yes, you can rot the roots.

Also a bug called a vine borer will kill a plant in a day or two.

Hornworms have arrived in my area. Just got home and one bastard ate half a tomato plant. Hate those things.

Good news is Ive already harvested about 50 cherry tomatoes off that one plant. Growing quickly this year.

I just got everything in the ground yesterday, will update with pictures later.

How long after planting should I fertilize? I just planted in top soil. 5x10 raised bed. First year doing it, have basically no idea what I'm doing but stuffs still growing.

it kind of depends on the plant, but don’t stress out about it too much. Mother Nature is going to take care of almost everything. More often than not plants are damaged by tending to them too much

Basil, zucchini, cucumbers, brussel sprouts, jalapeno, pablano, and banana peppers.

Looks like it's already time to watering everyday. It's warm and hasn't rained here in a while.
