I pulled about half of my potatoes this weekend. Most of the tops were dead and the flesh had hardened off so out they went. I averaged about 4 lbs or so per plant of red Lasodas and Yukon Golds. Not too bad. I replaced them with more herbs and peppers. We have gotten tons of cherry tomatoes from a little patio bush that is producing like crazy. I should have my first Creole tomatoes ready in the next week or so. Several are starting to change color now. I pulled my first peppers from my Dragon Cayenne plant as well. All in all, everything is looking great.

Planted 12 tomato, 2 cucs, 2 squash & 2 peppers on April 11 in EBR. Almost 0 growth thus far, but all but 2 tomato plants look fine. Water w sprinkler from well water for 30 min every mornin at 5AM.

Someone’s cat has been in it tho, smelled like a litter box for a couple days. I cut up some lemons and used cinnamon around the boxes and it hasn’t been back. Went ahead and staked them tonite to keep the little prick out.

Thinkin about swappin to a soaker house instead of sprinkler tho. Never used them before. Any recs would be appreciated. Will take pics 2morro

My snow peas in buckets are doing well. Picking about 10 a day per bucket. Most if my lettuce plants are big enough to pick. The black seed lettuce has a spicy taste to it. Red potato box is almost ready to harvest. My tomato plants are looking good. All have flowers now with several having fruit. Onions are slowing down but still look healthy. Bok choi is two feet tall and almost ready to harvest. Herbs are growing like weeds.

I'm picking tons of green beans and a few cucumbers. Tomatoes are slow this year. Still a couple of weeks away.

Same. But I have a lot of cucumbers coming up. Already picked about 2 dozen.

I used them when I had the raised beds before I went to boxes. They worked well. you just need to snake them throughout the bed. I found that I would only get a season out of the hose though. The next season the hose would have sprouted many pin holes that looked like little fountains and pretty much would not be much different than a sprayer. I had to put hardware cloth around all of my potatoes because a damn cat kept digging them up to take a dump in the box. I cut some 12" squares out of 1/2" hardware cloth and cut out a space for the plant in the middle. I then put them on the rows. No more digging in the boxes.

Buy a bag of cutie oranges, eat the oranges and tear up the peels and toss them in your raised beds - no more cat shat in the raised garden.

I also mulch with leaves and between the mulch/orange peels the cats are no longer using the bed.

I have a crazy cat lady 2 doors down as well.

The trick with soaker hoses is to bury them in mulch so they don’t get degraded by UV

Everything is looking great. You said the cucumbers were Straight 8’s, right? Mine are finally starting to make a lot of cucumbers.

A few of my tomato plants are starting to look bad. Really bushy and kinda look like some minor nitrogen burn. But I notice it smells a little bit like cat piss and shite around those plants. I may have to put something down to try to keep those sumbitches out of my garden.

Yes they are, and they finally took off once I put those tomato cages up

They are a tangled mess though

Lesson learned. I'm plating one plant in a separate box with a trellis next time

I hope you have room for the Spaghetti squash. It takes up a ton of space. Also, it helps if you hand pollinate them.

My goal is to take out some of the bell pepper plants when it's time for the squash to expand.... I definitely over cramped my garden this year

I’m believing this is my problem. If this week doesn’t get solid growth I’m gonna need some serious advice
