Red foxes won’t do shite. They are really timid. Let them do their thing.

It’s a fam of gray foxes fwiw. Not much difference between the two though apparently. Gray foxes are a lot more common here though and are more woodland while red foxes are more grassland creatures

I’ma update OP since thread still going.

After hearing yall out and doing enough research on foxes I’m not concerned about my dog anymore. Maybe they’ll wind up buds and I can record a live action fox & the hound. Sure I could do it better than Disney once their version inevitability comes out.

We have two dachshunds. One is an 18 lb killer and the other is 11 lbs and scared of its own shadow. Sounds like yours is like our small one. I’ve watched our large dachshund kill two rabbits - no way for me to stop it. He gets ahold of it and shakes it twice and it’s done. I have no doubt he could hold his own with a fox.
