I would not be surprised if that property is not looked at hard for expansion of Three Rivers WMA...

Agents have been raising hell about expansion of WMAs from what I've heard. Said they have too much land to patrol as it is. I also heard rumors that the state is considering leasing some of the land as it would be better patrolled by leasees then the agents (since they are so severely understaffed for the amount of land they have)

Only if it's reserved for OT ballers like the Whitelake Area the state owns.
I say that because it touches the current WMA, if it happened they would remove all the fencing etc...

I say it because the state keeps losing public land like the entire Plum Creek/Georgia Pacific WMA and when they get more land like the Whitelake Area they auction it off to the highest bidder instead of opening it to all hunters even if they had to use a lottery to minimize overcrowding. Ancient history but I'm still

Check this one out, over the river in West Baton Rouge...
1392 Acres
Improvements - Approx. 1320 acres high-fenced, 50'x125' equipment shed with camp, very nice 40'x40' 3BR/2BA camp, 8 1-ton protein feeders, 8 corn feeders (225 to 400 lb), and 10 new "boss" fiberglass 4'x6' box stands, 7 ladder stands, 8 wooden, 5... more tripods (buddy stands).
Comments - Fantastic opportunity to purchase one of the finest hunting tracts in the south. 1320 acres are fenced and the deer hunting is phenomenal having yielded 150" to 170" native bucks the last few years. This is a turnkey deal with box stands, tripods, ladder stands, 1600 sq ft cypress camp, equipment shed, breeding facility with barn, pens and does that are bred to Wisconsin, Texas and LSU breeding stock. It's truly the whole package and it's just across the river from LSU Tiger Stadium. This would make a great corporate package for entertaining clients with a trophy hunt and LSU home game.
