I bought a flat boat from a guy on Craigslist about 3 months ago and didn’t notice until last week that it didn’t have a serial number plate on it.

Anybody have experience with this? Can I get it serialized with LADWLF?

Was it built before 1972?

I did the same thing in MS years ago. When I went to get tags on trailer they just had me make one up.

Does the paperwork show a serial #? If so go to harbor freight and get an engraver or a set of stensils. Put the number on a tag and poprivet or JB Weld it to the boat. Total cost >$20.

It wasn’t built before 1972.

I don’t have a bill of sale, so nothing is referenced. I obviously wasn’t thinking that day.

Well, you are SOOL. Only thing you can use that boat would be on a private pond. There is zero chance to do anything else with it including scrapping it unless you cut it up to tiny pieces.
