Different sizes according to the wind or tide.
No wind, the smallest you can find..

What is the purpose of the plastic bead mentioned a few times above?

Noise too I guess.
At night we sometimes use brass weights and glass beads..sometimes it's the only way we catch fish at night.

It may be a tall tale
I've heard it a few times

I always heard was the knot help hold the worm in place. Keeps it from sliding down the hook.

I use 1/8oz bullet weight. Anything else sinks too fast IMO, at least fishing the shallow bayous around south LA. Some peg the weight with a toothpick, I've done it before, but unusually just let it slide. It's a personal preference.

Me either. He ties a hood knot

I will tell you this...I started sliding the worm up the line a little so the hook isn't exposed and have been catching more fish especially at night...

I think that's called a modified Texas rig. I like them set up that way too.
I also like to push the hook all the way through the plastic worm and them I repoition it just under the skin so it comes back out easier to hook the fish.

I thought texposed was when you push it through then leave it where the barb is against the worm but point is exposed?

Nope the point of the hook is pushed it the plastic
Posted on 6/6/12 at 9:31 pm to Devious
Well I'll be damned. I do that a lot

Nvm. I push it through then pull it back in and have the whole hook in plastic...just push it through so the plastic is looser when i set the hook
