My buddy puts one on when fishing in heavy grass.
Noise too I guess.

At night we sometimes use brass weights and glass beads..sometimes it's the only way we catch fish at night.

I always heard was the knot help hold the worm in place. Keeps it from sliding down the hook.

I use 1/8oz bullet weight. Anything else sinks too fast IMO, at least fishing the shallow bayous around south LA. Some peg the weight with a toothpick, I've done it before, but unusually just let it slide. It's a personal preference.

I will tell you this...I started sliding the worm up the line a little so the hook isn't exposed and have been catching more fish especially at night...

I think that's called a modified Texas rig. I like them set up that way too.

I also like to push the hook all the way through the plastic worm and them I repoition it just under the skin so it comes back out easier to hook the fish.

I thought texposed was when you push it through then leave it where the barb is against the worm but point is exposed?

Nvm. I push it through then pull it back in and have the whole hook in plastic...just push it through so the plastic is looser when i set the hook
