Im looking to take my little guy on his first redfishing trip (he's 5).

Im not sure he'd last a 6 hr trip, so I'm looking for maybe 4 hours, tops. I also dont want to make a 30 minute boat ride. Id love to have him catch a few reds and not be miserably cold.

Its very important to me that he has a good time and catches a couple reds (my future weekends depend on it). Im also not cheap fwiw.

If anyone can recommend a guide that is good with kids I'd much appreciate it.
Location doesnt really matter (preferably not Venice).
Thanks

I always recommend Travis Lovell out of Dularge for kids and he can definitely get on reds. He has a couple young daughters and knows how to make a trip fun for that age.

My grandfather took me fishing with Troy Robichaux with Saltwater Guide Service out of Golden Meadow when I was little. He was great with me, I caught a couple reds and was hooked for life.

He is still good with my little cousins 20 years later. I highly recommend him.

I second Travis Lovell in Dularge. . I took my boys , ages 15/10, back in July. It was an awesome trip and he is a great guide. We caught a lot of fish and it was pure fun. He took care of everything He did not pick up a rod the entire trip. He was more interested in making sure the boys had a great time. He is great with kids. You won’t be sorry.

I fish out of grand Isle Louisiana I have a one and a three-year-old that I take fishing with me. I’ve been a guide for over 20 years enjoy showing kids the outdoors would love to show y’all a good time on the water with no long boat rides.
