First time fishing Bay St Louis this weekend

Going to a buddy's camp, no access to a boat but they do have a nice dock setup. Any suggestions on what to use? Was thinking about rigging one with a straight queen cocahoe or texas popping cork w/plastic underneath; the other will probably be a bottom setup. Any suggestions?

I don't know what to tell you to use other than live shrimp, but I will tell you the fishing is nothing like LA fishing...and I don't care how close it is to LA. I live in South MS, and don't even bother getting a MS fishing license.

That is better than the other options, although if it was the canals, you can catch some nice bluegill. I'm biased I'm sure because I prefer to catch specks and reds, but there is good flounder fishing there...and you can probably pick of the occasional speck as well.

Well shite, yall have dampered my hopes 
I won't be able to keep any of the fish I catch so I don't mind catch trash fish. I just want some action. The g/f will be there so she couldn't care less when she is reeling in. She doesn't know the different between a bass and a redfish

that's why I said lazy fish them on the bottom. you can sit and drink beer and catch hardheads, sting rays, etc. and get drunk.

he has a camp on a canal of the river. we fished out there last weekend with little luck. a few specs, white trout and flounder. plenty trash fish.

Seriously, worms and bobbers in the shade.. granted you will be in the bay but try to find a shady spot to cast

no. I have two there and my dad has one. they should be done some time this month. only things is I'm in Pittsburgh for the month. I cant wait to get them back
