While fishing Venice yesterday saw 4 teal that buzzed us where we were fishing. A little ahead of the normal August 15 first arrival date but always an exciting time to see them!

Didn't hear it myself, but was told Capt Ryan Lambert reported some down there two weeks ago on Don Dubuc's saturday morning radio show.
My first sighting last year was Aug 19; and have seen some in previous years around that same timeframe, OR none at all until opening morning.
can't wait!

First time I've gotten down there on a Wednesday in about 5 years! It was hot but sure beat the hell out of work!

I've ben seeing teal in Bayou Black for about a month now. They may stay all year.

Whats is the cane looking like down there. How bad did the parasite hit it?

It's real bad in places not so bad in others. I can tell you I have been scouring Ali Babba and amazon for artificial willow limbs to allow me to set up where I want to not where there are canes, so far no luck on a good substitute on line but I'm looking.
