Just started listening to his podcast because of this board...damn that's some good shite! The first episode with Joe Rogan is fantastic. When he started talking about Bergmann's Rule, I thought "man, this is the most badass podcase ever".

I have a 30 min drive to and from the hunting club, so I can go through a lot of his podcasts during hunting season.

Whatever happened to that show from south Louisiana where every episode was, “aw Daddy, that’s a nice fish...that’s a good fish Kevin... aw, that’s a nice one.”

New podcast episode? Why?

Hell, I'm starting from the beginning. Got a long way to go until the new one.

The fact that it is on netflix says a lot.

I wish more outdoor shows were available on Netflix. I don't have the outdoor channel and ESPN2 and others have pretty much dropped hunting and fishing shows from their lineup.

They got charged by a brown bear last week. Entire podcast is building up to the event, and that rat bastard cuts it off as soon as the first guy is telling about when he realized shite was going down.

I liked Rinella when I watched. But I'm of the opinion these shows as a whole have ruined hunting. Watching Long Range Pursuit right now confirms my opinion. What a bunch of douchers.

I've never really agreed with this opinion. Conservation organizations and landowners should be just as much to blame for it if we are going to blame hunting shows.

Those hunting shows aren't actively trying to recruit the high dollar people to their organizations and to hunting. Those hunting shows aren't choosing to lease land to corporations and big wallets for thousands of dollars more than the "little guy" can afford.

Do the hunting shows help? Maybe not. But I find it laughable when people think guys that are paid to hunt have ruined hunting. If anything, they are keeping it alive.

Think about it. Those shows generate interest in hunting. They show that there is still interest in hunting. If there weren't those shows wouldn't exist.

Hell, I always love the old guys complaining about the young kids that "don't know a thing about hunting" and are ruining hunting. Well, you old farts, you ever think that kid didn't have anyone to teach him how to hunt right?

You want to point a finger at someone that is ruining hunting? How about the clowns that post pictures of themselves posing with dead animals with blood dripping from the mouth or arrow/bullet wounds visible ALL OVER SOCIAL MEDIA for the PETA-types to have a field day with? The idiots that kill over the limit every year? The poachers that give every real hunter a bad name? The morons that attack vegans and anti-hunting types in the same way they attack us?

Those are the people fueling the fire and ruining hunting. Those rich guys are at least keeping those lands in recreational use.

I agree on the pic posting.

I think hunting shows have helped to increase pressure and lease prices. But, those additional dollars from addition folks do lead to innovation and new products, a few of which are useful.

Also, exploiting game/killin shite to sell some gizmo has never set right with me.

Plus, most of the shows on are pure .bs, but i guess there's lots of folks that like and watch them though.

I'm guilty of the second part, but I do like the Primos "Truth about Spring Turkey Hunting" videos, and I enjoy Bone Collector. Bone Collector is definitely one of those shows that is all about pushing merch. I mean hell, they start every season with "the new hoyt bow", or a new TC firearm.

Meat Eater is very refreshing though, because it seems more real. Steve isn't trying to be sporting about it in the same way Waddell and all the others are. He's not chasing big antlers, he's after meat. He'll just as quickly shoot a doe if it's legal as he would a big buck. He doesn't seem fake about what he's talking about or doing. He's hunting the way he sees hunting should be done. I could be wrong, but it seems like most of his hunts are public land hunts, which is awesome.

Steve also seems very well read and educated, which is a stark contrast to what a lot of these other shows are.

On another note, has anyone watched Apex Predator with Remi Warren? Sounds like a pretty cool concept at least.

If you listen to his podcast or read any of his books you would realize that he is pretty much a walking encyclopedia. very well read.

I don't get why people get upset over rich folks. "hey some piece of shite rich guy has the money to improve habitat on his property and through proper management is killing big bucks! what an arse hole! he's ruining it for the little guy! durrrrr lemme go shoot a button buck!"
