I see bullet holes on metal roofs around B'ham all the time.

WTF is wrong with those people? That SHOULD be a pretty rare find.

Guns are fun to shoot.

If you don't have a car or a dad to take you to the woods, you do what you see others doing.

one of my biggest pet peeves are people who shoot high powered rifles into the air.
I lived in a condo in Dallas that was surrounded by built-in-the-80's,one & two bedroom apartments where the one bedrooms had 4-6 people living in them. When I bought the condo, they were "Singles" apartments. That was before the federal government outlawed apartments that didn't take families.

Lots of the folks in them were illegals, that had their own "Cash Only, Tax Free" economy, complete with "liquor/snacks/whatever we're stocking/ or know we need to get this week" store, run out of an apartment.

On New Year's Eve, The 4th of July, Cinco de Mayo, even Christmas, guys would shoot their 9mm & 44 ACP handguns in the air. If they had them, they probably shot rifles too. They let their pit bulls run loose while they were out shooting them. I once saw a couple of parents breeding their pit bulls while they were running loose. The reason I knew they were parents was their kids were watching too.
