Electric Log Splitters

Are any of them worth it instead of gas? Have a few cords I need to split and I'm over having do it with a maul

My Dad has one of the cheap ones from Harbor Freight. It does OK on oak, basically if you can split it with a maul it will handle it. Big knotty stuff will bog it down, but he has split 12-14" stuff easily.

I have been using a Ryobi electric splitter I got at Home Depot for $199 about 10 years ago. I use the shite out of it and have probably split 20 cords of wood. If the wood is too knotty or dense it will just stall it. For home owner use I would give it 2 thumbs up. If your selling firewood this is not for you.
